Get To Know the Barrett-Wehlmann Advertising and Marketing Team

 

William R. Barrett is a veteran of over 35 years of diverse marketing experience including advertising, public relations, internal and external corporate communications, financial communication, crisis communication, and events coordination.

As director of corporate communications for Service Corporation International, Bill worked closely with such national programs as The Today Show, Good Morning America, 60 Minutes and 20/20. As an agency representative, he worked with a wide variety of clients, including restaurants, banks, retail stores, manufacturers, industrial suppliers, hotels, home builders, and real estate companies.

Additionally, his financial communications experience includes analysts’ presentations, annual reports, and financial publicity for a New York Stock Exchange company. Bill developed and executed nationwide community programs creating local market visibility for 2,000 branch locations. Nationally, he has worked on accounts such as Beneficial Finance, KBK Financial, Lipton Teas & Soups, STP, Pizza Hut, and Jardine Food Company. In addition, he implemented successful regional motion picture advertising and promotions for Paramount Pictures, Disney, and Universal Pictures. Bill currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Marketing Association, Houston Chapter.

Darrell Wehlmann has more than 18 years of experience in corporate communications, web design and construction, computer systems, project management, and financial management.

Darrell holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Texas A&M University. As vice president for a large marketing and communications company, he successfully directed the Internet and multimedia practice and created “best practices” for development and implementation. In addition, Darrell was manager and team leader for a large technology consultancy where he creatively enabled customers to automate their businesses. His background includes financial and accounting experience as a senior accounting and auditing professional for a large independent oil and gas company.

Throughout his career, Darrell has successfully managed and led multiple marketing initiatives, planned and managed numerous large technology projects, and managed and directed business operations. Darrell has successfully delivered projects for clients such as WesternGeco, Burlington Resources, Union Texas Petroleum, Tesco Corporation, Wild Well Control, Inspectorate, Ivy Steel & Wire, Merchants Metals, DHL Worldwide, Kodiak Technologies, Quanex Corporation, Diamond Offshore, Reid Investments, U.S. Growth Funds, Quantum Reservoir Impact, Marquette Financial and TGE Resources.

Jim Proctor has helped companies optimize their sales forces and reach full earnings potential for more than 25 years. Jim’s experience includes a wide variety of marketing activities including advertising, public and community relations, promotions and marketing strategy. He has developed and implemented effective marketing programs in a variety of industries including  industrial chemicals and oilfield services.

His work includes the development and implementation of communications to support eCommerce activities across all businesses worldwide for ExxonMobil Chemical. And during other periods at ExxonMobil, he was responsible for developing and implementing promotional advertising activities throughout North and South America. As a vice president and account supervisor for a premier oilfield services agency, he was responsible for the development and service of accounts in a variety of technical and industrial fields.

Jim holds a B.S. in Communications from the University of Texas. Continuing professional educations includes the ExxonMobil International Communications and Public Affairs School at Boston University and numerous ExxonMobil training courses including Leadership, Negotiating and Market Planning and annual media training. He has served as chairman the communications committee of the National Paint and Coatings Association and Vice President of Professional Development for the International Association of Business Communicators. Jim currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Business Marketing Association, Houston Chapter.

James Grantham has been helping companies build strong brands, improve perceptions and increase shareholder value for more than 16 years. Prior to joining Barrett-Wehlmann as Creative Director, James was Marketing Director for Adplex, where he managed marketing programs for both the agency and major retail accounts.

Previously, he held account management positions with several other Houston agencies, including B2B agency Fellers Marketing and Advertising, where he was Vice President and Account Supervisor.

Throughout his career, Grantham has managed clients such as Dynegy, ExxonMobil Chemical Company, Schlumberger, BMC Software, Procter & Gamble, ebaseOne, GE Power Systems, Koch, Aegis Asset Management and Pall Corporation. Grantham is a Certified Business Communicator and holds a B.S. in Advertising from the University of Texas.

Carl Glatzel brings over 13 years in delivering award winning design to clients. Glatzel joined Barrett-Wehlmann as Senior Art Director after serving as Senior Graphic Designer for Stewart Title Company, where he provided art direction and design for print and interactive media including trade ads, marketing collateral, direct mail, exhibits, identity and signage.

Previously, he held Art Director positions with The Focus Group, Compaq and Fellers Marketing and Advertising. He has worked with clients such as Loomis, Texas Instruments, Dynegy, Koch Petroleum and ExxonMobil Chemical Company.

Glatzel holds a B.A. in Communication from the University of St. Thomas. His work has been recognized by his peers, achieving numerous BMA Lantern Awards and local and regional Addy awards.

Paula Guillory offers over 21 years of office management, administrative, accounting and tax services to the team at Barrett-Wehlmann. Paula has proficiency in accounting, financial reporting, project cost control, review and analysis of financial statements and general ledger, preparation and filing of sales, property, payroll, state and federal income tax returns. She is well-versed in administrative procedures as well as research of cost factors, capital development and operational budgets. Paula's previous employers, among others, include Accenture and Arthur Andersen.

Having lived for a number of years in Indonesia and traveled extensively to England, India and throughout other parts of the world, Paula also possesses the personal interactive skills necessary to communicate well. In her position as an expatriate, not only did Paula excel as a social events coordinator in her community, but she also worked with various groups as a fund raiser for local charities. She has interacted with, and hosted many people of varied nationalities and positions. All of these experiences qualify Paula in a position of varied support services at Barrett-Wehlmann.
